And I bet that when the situation finally came up, something like that really happened to you. It may have been uncomfortable for you at the time, but trust me, that very experience can move you forward to a happier and more contented life now.
Our mind-set is powerful, even more powerful than most of us can ever imagine. And that mind-set is what can move you forward by leaps and bounds, or keep you feeling like “nothing good will ever happen to me” or “I’m just not happy in life and nothing will ever work out the way I want it to”. But now, please think about it – how much time before the unpleasant situation did you spend thinking that everything would work out in your favor, compared to how much time you spent thinking about all the outright horror scenarios of what bad things could happen to you?
A lot of people are always conditioning their lives – only when they have something, only when something happens in their lives, only then will they finally be better off and happy. For example, only when I have a beautiful partner relationship, then I will feel happy and satisfied. But that’s not how it works, unfortunately. Even, it’s just the opposite.
Because by how we feel right now, we are materializing (attracting) the reality that will happen to us.
Our nervous system filters millions of pieces of information from our surroundings every day and only lets a certain amount into our consciousness. According to what key does this happen? According to whether we relate to the information, whether it is somehow relevant to us. Did it ever happen to you that you bought a new car and suddenly the streets were flooded with the same type of cars? Was it because a factory suddenly unleashed thousands of identical cars into the world just so you could see them? Or was it because your nervous system started to release this familiar information to you? It’s the same with our thoughts.
If your system is set up to believe that only bad things happen to you, that you never get lucky in anything, and while everything goes smoothly for others, you have to work hard to achieve even half of their easily gained success, that’s really how it will be. If this is how you feel, if this is the essence of who you really are, that you are a poor woman who is having a very hard time in life, what do you think your system will validate, what will it “dismiss”? Exactly. There will be nothing but reassurance coming from every side that this is the case. You are putting yourself in the position of a defenseless victim who is being crushed by life. You are subconsciously, but consistently, choosing this reality of yours – after all, it belongs to you, this is who you are. And until you change this inner setting, until you allow yourself to allow success, happiness, lightness, ease to enter your life, until then you will live your sad reality.
The very first step is to get out of the “victim” program – this program helped us as defenseless children. Things actually happened to us, we didn’t have much say in when we went to school, what was for lunch, in many cases the school that determined our careers was chosen for us. But now, not only is he no longer serving us, he’s destroying our happiness and it’s time to say goodbye. It’s time to take full control, responsibility, but also incredible opportunity and start shaping our lives to our liking. It’s a wonderful, liberating feeling to know that you no longer have to be that Baby waiting for her Patrick Swayze to come pull her out onto the dance floor. Be the star of your own life, be the one who shines, not the one in a dark corner waiting for her turn to come along one day.
